3000 OBJECTS AND WORKS OF ART TO PROMOTE INTERACTION BETWEEN CONTEMPORARY ART AND THE ART OF "OTHER" CULTURES IN OBJECT /SPECIFIC MODE
MISSION
The FSP, noting the problems caused by the acceleration of globalization in contemporary societies, with unknowns that can be interpreted as openings, will create concrete opportunities for dialogue between cultures. In this, the FSP entrusts the creativity of artistic production with a prime role, removing the gap between "high" and "low" art, between "works of art" swallowed as such by the current art market system and artefacts of “ethnic art” and “folk art”.
The exercise of creativity in artistic production, from an object-specific viewpoint, by definition interdisciplinary and democratic - whatever the time or place of origin - can become an effective means for discovery of collective memory and identity, overcoming prejudice and barriers to "others" and recognizing their role of "self".
The FSP is committed therefore to characterize all its activities as part of a transnational and intercultural dialogue, fostering a network of partnerships with museums and cultural centres not only in Italy, as also with companies and businesses, increasing cooperation, supporting initiatives that reflect the statutory aims, promoting artists and researchers who work in this dimension.
The Foundation, bringing together such heterogeneous collections, aims to make this heritage available to the community, contributing to new knowledge and practice and offering a source of inspiration for new contemporary art forms.
In pursuit of this mission, the FSP will act first to ensure proper heritage conservation, lending art works to institutes with the appropriate expertise and technology. Then promoting exhibitions, seminars and publications, to enhance the assets with research and wide dissemination, supporting artistic production and favouring confrontation between generations and cultures. Awards and scholarships for young artists and researchers will also be endowed; and action will be taken as needed to fund the Foundation for its legal non-profit and statutory purposes.
